Effect of pH level and calcination on the production of calcium phosphates by acidic route of wet precipitation

Multiphasic calcium phosphate powders were synthesized by the acidic route, using lactic acid as a chelating agent that allows production of stable and rich solution ions at room temperature. After pH adjusting, without varying concentrations precursor solution, XRD FTIR analyses showed different CaP phases before after heat treatment 1000 °C. At 5, brushite plate-like particles produced, while higher levels (7 to 12) nano-hydroxyapatite formed. calcination process, partial total decomposition hydroxyapatite in ?-TCP phase was explained XRF analysis due calcium-deficient samples 7 10. This work presents an important method synthesize any desired compositions level subsequently performing treatment, which has direct effect on morphology, crystallinity, formation powders.
